Cheers! We made it. It's a strange end to a challenging year. Many of us still have to stay apart during this time of togetherness, so I would like to look back on the positive things that have come out of 2020 in hopes that it brings you a bit of joy.
This year brought us Baby Yoda and entertaining curiosities like Tiger King. But we also witnessed the inspiring strength, selflessness, and resilience of citizens around the world — from the front line workers who put themselves at risk to save others, to the activists who took a stand against racism creating a movement that spanned other countries and cultures. We pulled together as communities to support local businesses and we actually got to see the real impact humans have on the environment. Proof that we can affect change if we all do our part.
On a more individual level, we learned to appreciate the small freedoms we take for granted each day, like a walk in a park or a hug from a friend. We started prioritizing our mental well-being and checking in with our neighbours, coworkers, family and friends. We gained perspective on what we truly need and showed gratitude for everything we already have.
I believe these are the positive things we can carry with us into the future and leave the rest behind. Sending you nothing but love this season. Here's to a better new year!
